 BELLA GRANDE is a ladies consignment store exclusively for women wearing size 12 and up. We carry only the best in name brand and designer apparel, including brands like Elisabeth, Jones New York, Maggie Barnes, Lane Bryant, and more. All of our clothing is in like-new condition, and in fact, much of it IS new! In addition to an ever-changing selection of apparel, BELLA GRANDE also carries handbags, lingerie, shoes, gift items and jewelry. Our shop is warm and friendly, with large fitting rooms and friendly, enthusiastic staff. Our consigning procedures are honest and straightforward; our prices reasonable, and our selection is amazing. Where Our Merchandise Comes From: Bella Grande has more than 450 suppliers, with merchandise coming from a wide mid-Michigan radius. Shoppers should never be concerned that they might be “wearing their neighbor’s clothes”, since the origin of any garment is confidential, and the manufacturer surely made thousands in the production run. Our History: Owned and operated by Charlotte resident Betsy Smith, Bella Grande is a dream come true for this 50-something young-at-heart curvy diva. Prior to opening the plus size boutique, Betsy maintained an eBay store for several years in addition to her full time career as a vocational evaluator for a national non-profit. When the inventory took over the spare bedroom, she knew the time had arrived to open a real store, and she never looked back! Married to husband, Alden, the couple has four grown children and three granddaughters. Alden, semi-retired, owns and operates a home-based web design and free-lance writing business. Our Values: We believe in recycling. We save the planet one outfit at a time. We also believe that large women have been neglected and dismissed by the fashion industry, whose icons are undernourished waifs. Large women should be proud of their curves and be able to find quality, affordable fashions without being made to feel guilty because they wear something other than a size 4. They should be treated with courtesy and respect regardless of their size, and their shopping experiences should be pleasurable instead of frustrating and embarrassing.
